WBXML library

The WAP Binary XML (WBXML) specification defines a compact
binary representation of the Extensible Markup Language (XML). The
binary XML content format has been designed to allow for compact
transmission of XML data over limited-bandwidth communication channels
without loss of functionality or semantic information. WBXML provides
improved compression of SIP payloads over what can be achieved with
generic SigComp compression. Combined with SigComp compression, the
WBXML library is suitable for IMS presence and messaging.
Improved WBXML compression can be achieved using standardized
dictionaries. One basic dictionary is the Wireless Markup
Language (WML) specified by the Open Mobile Alliance (formerly WAP
Forum).
The WBXML library supports the following features:
- supports WBXML version 1.3 (aka WAP 2.0)
- XML to WBXML compression with specified dictionary
- WBXML to XML decompression
- WBXML decoding with SAX-like events
Supported dictionaries include: WML 1.0-1.3, WTA 1.2, CHANNEL 1.2, SI
1.0, SL 1.0, CO 1.0, EMN 1.0, PROV 1.0, and DRMREL 1.0.
The WBXML library is available for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, NetBSD, Linux and Symbian.
Support packages are available and our engineers can provide assistance with any
customizations that individual customers may require.
